Triple Play: 8 Months

How old?  8 Months.

Our weights? (Estimates) S: 14 lbs T: 16 lbs M: 15 lbs
The girls are wearing 6 months clothes and 9 months pajamas.  Taylor is really starting to separate in size from the other two so we may have babies in different sizes soon.

Our sleeping patterns?  I'm attempting the transition out of the swings during naps for the third time now.  So far so good.  Mallory is in her crib during naps, I just started putting Sam in there, and Taylor is still in the swing but she will be in her crib soon.  I decided to do it one by one this time and it seems to be working better.  Plus, we had to get Mallory out of the swing since she can practically climb out of it.  Samantha has been refusing to take her 2nd nap of the day at the regular scheduled time and takes it after her 4 PM bottle.

Nights are beginning to improve again.  The fact that all three are teething is not helpful but they aren't waking as much.  Every night is different.  You think you know a pattern and then you get thrown a curve ball.  The other night all three were up screaming at 11 PM.  The process of trying to calm them, then feed them, then get them back to sleep took about 2 hours... not cool.  But then they slept well until the morning.  Another night Mallory was up at 11, Taylor at 2, and Sam at 4.  You just never know.  Sometimes each of them sleep through the night, they just don't all do it on the same night.  They wake each other up so easily that we can't let them fuss for too long or we have all three screaming and only two of us.  You do the math.  We are slowly progressing... I'm getting inpatient though.  I really need a week's worth of full nights of sleep.

Our eating schedule?  The girls have bottles at 8 AM, 12 PM, 4 PM, and 7 PM.  They are getting about 6-8 ounces each time.  The girls are getting better at eating solids.  We do that at about 9 AM and again after their 4 PM bottle.  Sam loves rice cereal, she can't get enough but hates fruit.  You have to encourage Taylor to eat sometimes but she does it.  Mallory, surprisingly, is normally patient and eats her food really well.  We have been adding in a new food every five days to test for allergies.  No problems so far.

Our favorite foods? Sweet Potatoes, rice cereal, bananas and squash.

Our likes? Jumpy jumps (as I call them), teething rings, teething tablets, and baths.

S: Sam loves to jump and be in a standing position.  She lights up when her Daddy gets home from work.  She likes eskimo kisses and being tickled.  She likes when I make funny noises and will just giggle.  So sweet.

T: Taylor loves for Mom to hold her.  She likes to be tossed in the air and when Daddy blows raspberries on her belly.  She loves to chew on clothes or toys... a washcloth is her favorite.  She loves the bathtub now that she can sit and splash around.

M: Mallory wants anything her sisters have.  And since she is on the move now, she goes and gets what she wants.  Her sisters are not fans.  She also loves to scoot around.  The space heater is her favorite so that gets moved every morning and she likes any cords she can find, yikes!  This little girl is going to be trouble.  She loves to be tossed in the air and flipped upside down (not at the same time... yet :)

Our dislikes?  When Mommy leaves the room.  Sam hates it when her sisters touch her.  Its so funny, you can tell she is thinking, "Stop touching me!"  I probably won't find this funny later on when they can talk though.  They all dislike it when each other takes their toys.  Mallory does it the most, but I've seen the other two do it as well.

Our favorite games/toys?  Jumpy jumps, peekaboo, singing songs, things to chew on (so pretty much anything).

Our milestones? S: Sitting unsupported, first tooth, squawking, and saying mamama, dadada, bababa.  T: Kinda scooting, she goes backwards mostly, but she gets around a little, sitting unassisted, saying mamama, dadada, bababa.  M: Sitting unsupported, scooting, CRAWLING (hasn't mastered it yet, but she has done it), and saying mamama, dadada, bababa, and pulling up in her crib (yikes!).  Mallory is definitely on the move.

Things we do to make Mom and Dad smile?  Make each other giggle, make new noises or funny faces, be happy when they see us, and when they learn new things.
