Bump Day: Week 22

How far along? 22 weeks.

Sleep? Surprisingly, yes.  Only waking up once to pee.

Maternity Clothes? Yep yep

Stretch Marks? Nada.

Best Moment this week? My mini-spa day... Jen straightened my hair and my Mom painted my toenails and shaved my legs!  Feels nice to have smooth legs :)

Miss Anything? Anything outside of my bedroom and bathroom... standing... driving... things are much different on bed rest.

Movement? Yep, those kiddos are kickin' more and more each day.

Size of the Babies? Three Spaghetti Squashes!  I know that sounds huge but I think it is the length of the spaghetti squash.  They are close to 1 lb and about 11 inches in length.

Food Cravings? Not many this week.  Just eating what people give me.  No more aversions which is good.

Morning Sickness? Completely gone.  I feel great but I have to stay in bed now.

Gender? Three girls.

Bed Rest? Yes, only able to get up to go to the bathroom.  I can shower but it has to be quick.

Limitations? No standing or sitting.  Must stay less than 45 degrees.

Labor Signs? Nope.

Weight Gain? 20 lbs... gaining like crazy now since I actually have an appetite.

Pregnancy Symptoms? Sweaty hands and palms... not sure if that is a pregnancy symptom but its new and its annoying.

Belly Button In or Out? Slightly out.

Wedding Rings On or Off? Still On.

Mood? Pretty happy these days.  Not too bored yet with the bed rest so that is good.

Looking Forward To? Showering... pretty pathetic, but its nice to get up and move around a little bit.

What Brian is Saying: "...Now get back in bed"  Whenever I get up to pee/brush my teeth/shower.  He gets worried and scurries me back to bed quickly.  Already taking care of his little munchkins.

Bed Rest: Day 1

Well... that day is here.  The day I have been dredding, the day I have been hoping wouldn't come this soon, the day I go on Bed Rest.

Yesterday, my doctor decided to put me on mandatory bed rest.  You may be wondering what all that entails so I will let you know (since I'm just laying here).  It means I have to lay down at a 45 degree angle or less at ALL times.  My only priveleges are to get up to go to the bathroom and when I shower, I must sit on our bench.  So... I'll be doing what I can from a horizontal position until these girlies are born (about 3 months).

It may sound like I'm complaining but really I'm just trying to wrap my brain around this new lifestyle.  I know it is what is best for the babies and me so I'm going to do this bed rest thing to the best of my ability.  I'm going to ROCK this bed rest.

I do have this feeling of helplessness.  My husband is already being a Saint.  Making sure I have what I need, making me dinner, and checking on me.  He is having to take on 100% of our housework, taking care of our dog, putting the nursery together, taking care of ME, and bringing in the dough at work... all while I lay in bed.  This is just the beginning and I already can't give him enough kisses and thank yous for all of the work he will be doing for the next few months.

I'm also going to have to have someone here most of the time.  Julie-sitting as Brian likes to call it.  Someone to make me meals, refill my water, let Ryley out, and keep the house somewhat in order while Brian is at work.  There is no way I'm going to be able to repay our friends and family for the sacrifices they are about to make.  I can't thank them enough for wanting to help my growing family.

Now that I'm in bed, I will have more time to blog, make photobooks, and buy baby things.  I guess you could say I'm living the "Ultimate Couch Potato Lifestyle".

Thanks to everyone in advance for all of your love, help, and support.  We truely appreciate it.

Bump Day: Week 21

How far along? 21 weeks.

Sleep? Still have to take Phenergan at night so I don't feel really crappy the next day.

Maternity Clothes? Yep, and even starting to really fill out some of the maternity clothes I have, so they may not last much longer.

Stretch Marks? Still no.

Best Moment this week? Getting started on the nursery... I just supervised but it is turning out really cute.  It still needs a closet renovation and carpet.

Miss Anything?  RODEO! I'm so bummed. I think I have gone to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo every year of my life and with all of the walking, my doctor specifically said NO RODEO. Ugh. It just makes me that much more excited for next year when I get to push around my 3 girls in their cute cowgirl outfits in the triplet stroller.

Movement? Yes, definitely.  I began feeling kicks or movement last Wednesday and Brian was lucky enough to feel it as well.  It was such a special moment for us.

Size of the Babies? Three Bananas.

Food Cravings? Little Debbie's Chocolate Swiss Rolls.

Morning Sickness? No More Nausea... Can we celebrate?  Wait, I have no stamina to get ready to celebrate.

Gender? Three girls.

Bed Rest? Nope, but taking it easy.

Limitations? Still the same, do as little as possible.

Labor Signs? Nope.

Weight Gain? 17 lbs... finally reached my 4000 calorie per day diet with 4250 calories on Monday.  Eating is now my job.  Keeping up with these demands is going to be difficult but worth it for my little ones.

Pregnancy Symptoms? Difficulty getting comfortable.

Belly Button In or Out? I hate to say it but it is slightly out all of the time now.

Wedding Rings On or Off? Still On.

Mood? Tired.

Looking Forward To? A get-together at my Brother and SIL's house.  I'm not able to get out much, so outings with little walking that I can actually attend gets me excited.

What Brian is Saying: "I really want to start thinking more seriously about names."

Bump Day: Week 20

How far along? 20 weeks.

Sleep? Hard to get comfortable to fall asleep.  I have to get up on my elbows now to roll over.

Maternity Clothes? Yep, no pre-pregnancy clothes fit anymore.

Stretch Marks? No, fortuneately.

Best Moment this week? Seeing friends and family at my babies' showers.  It was an amazing time that I didn't want to end.  I will be blogging about these showers soon.

Miss Anything? Energy.

Movement? Possibly, hard to tell.  But I'm feeling little flutters here and there.

Size of the Babies? Three Coconuts!  Or the length of a carrot or the size of small cantaloupes.

Food Cravings? Ryley and I enjoyed a midnight snack the other day... Cheez-Its with Squeeze Cheese followed by an Oatmeal Cream Pie.

Morning Sickness? No, but some days I feel more light headed than others.

Gender? Still 3 little girls.

Bed Rest? Still no... Brian predicts it won't be long though.  I hope he is wrong.

Limitations?  No lying on my back, I end up getting light headed... not good.

Labor Signs? Not this week.  Always a good thing.

Weight Gain? Up to 15 lbs.  Brian is so proud :)

Pregnancy Symptoms? Feeling like my stomach is in my chest.  Everything is getting smushed together.

Belly Button In or Out? Not completely out yet.

Wedding Rings On or Off? Still On

Mood? Excited to make some decisions about the nursery and organizing my house.

Looking Forward To? Choosing fabrics for the nursery.  I have changed my mind a million times but I think I'm finally happy with my plans.

What Brian is Saying: "The sooner you pick out colors, the sooner I cant get started with the nursery".  He is anxious to get going... probably for good reason.

Bump Day: Week 19

How far along? 19 weeks.

Sleep? Some nights really good, but others I'm not so lucky.  I have to wake up every time I need to roll over.

Maternity Clothes? Yes, not fitting in any of my pre-pregnancy clothes except pajama pants.  Brian's t-shirts are working out really well now.

Stretch Marks? Nope.  I'm dredding this...

Best Moment this week? Spending a nice weekend with some friends coming to visit and help us with some home improvements before the girls get here.

Miss Anything? Not being short of breath while getting ready in the morning.  I mean I have to take breaks and sit in a chair now... how pathetic.

Movement? Not that I know of.

Size of the Babies? Three Heirloom Tomatos!  And yes, I had to look up what that was.

Food Cravings? Cheeseburgers this week.

Morning Sickness? Nothing in the past week.  Over the hump??  I sure hope so.

Gender? Three little girls.

Bed Rest? No, but I have to lay horizontal a couple times per day.

Limitations?  Same ones still... no bending, squatting, lifting, pushing, or pulling.

Labor Signs? None in the last week, knock on wood everyone.

Weight Gain? 12 lbs... weird how I'm pretty much living the "ultimate couch potato" lifestyle.

Pregnancy Symptoms? Noticing a little indigestion, but just happy the nausea is gone.

Belly Button In or Out? I want to say its still in, however part of it is beginning to stick out when I'm full.

Wedding Rings On or Off? Still On

Mood? Relieved to be feeling a little better :)

Looking Forward To?  My babies' showers this weekend.  I can't wait to see some family and friends.

What Brian is Saying: "Everyone keeps asking me if I am overwhelmed or not, but when I think of us having children, I dont think about it being overwhelming, rather I get overcome with emotion with the thought of having children."

Bump Day: Week 18

How far along? 18 weeks.

Sleep? Trouble getting comfortable now, but still sleeping pretty good.

Maternity Clothes? Yep… not wearing many of my “pre-pregnancy” clothes.

Stretch Marks? No, still putting cocoa butter on twice daily.

Best Moment this week? Seeing my girls on the big screen (ultrasound).  You can see their rib cages and clearly see parts of their brains... so cool.

Miss Anything? Wedge salads... I love me some blue cheese.

Movement? No, but doc says about 2 more weeks.

Size of the Babies? Three little Pears!

Food Cravings? Strawberries with powdered sugar.  Pure sweetness.

Morning Sickness? Beginning to feel better each day.

Gender? Three little girls.

Bed Rest? Not strict bed rest, but I am supposed to take it really easy and rest as much as possible.

Limitations? No bending over… Can someone please tie my shoes?

Labor Signs? More contractions for a couple hours last Wednesday that were no fun.  Nothing since then, thankfully.

Weight Gain? 10 lbs., Brian keeps trying to fatten me up.

Pregnancy Symptoms? Feeling bloated all the time.

Belly Button In or Out? Still In, but flattening when I’m full.

Wedding Rings On or Off? Still On

Mood? Bummed that today was my last day of work :/  I’m gonna miss my co-workers, patients, and getting out of the house on a regular basis.

Looking Forward To? Tackling organizing my house.  Tomorrow is my first day off from work so, what to do… what to do…

What Brian is Saying: His post from Facebook, “I'm a plumber, a tile guy, a handy man, a maid, a manager, a husband and most importantly a father. Lots of stuff to be done around the house before my girls arrive.”  He is in pure work mode.

Bump Day: Week 17

How far along? 17 weeks, 1/2 way to our goal… Memorial Day.

Sleep? Beginning to be a little inconsistent but still tired all of the time.

Maternity Clothes? My Mom did some shopping for me, so now I’m pretty set… Thanks, Mom!

Stretch Marks? No, still putting cocoa butter on twice daily.

Best Moment this week? Getting out of the hospital, see earlier post here.

Miss Anything? Sushi, its something about the things you can’t have.

Movement? No, but I think it will be any day now.

Size of the Babies? Three little Apples!

Food Cravings? Asiago cheese bagel with cream cheese.

Morning Sickness? Things are looking better on the nausea front.  The last time I threw up, it was on a nurse and that wasn’t because of morning sickness… see last post.

Gender?  Three little girls.

Bed Rest?  Temporarily, last Thursday and Friday.

Limitations? No more playing with Ryley girl and that makes us sad (her mostly).

Labor Signs? Had some contractions last Thursday after my procedure, but they are gone.

Weight Gain? 9 lbs.

Pregnancy Symptoms? Stretching around my stomach.

Belly Button In or Out? Still In, but flat… so so close to poking out and I’m only about 1/2 way there.

Wedding Rings On or Off? Still On

Mood? Glad I’m not nauseated anymore.

Looking Forward To? Decorating the nursery… we have finally made some decisions so the work should begin soon.

What Brian is Saying: At 17 weeks, the babies begin to hear my heartbeat and voices around them, so naturally Brian must announce his presence, “Hey babies, its Dad!” right up against my belly.
