Happy Halloween from the Patterson Zoo!

Halloween this year was a little different.  We were able to celebrate at our new house!  We haven't even officially moved in and the neighbors are already including us in their block parties.  We had such a fun time and are excited to be a part of this tradition.

We dressed up as The Patterson Zoo!  The girls absolutely love animals and making animal noises right now, so I thought it would be appropriate to dress them as a lion, elephant, and monkey.  Brian and I went as zoo keepers and our parents were our "Zoo Crew".  The girls were very weary at the beginning about their costumes but somehow Mallory and Sam kept their whole costume on ALL night and Taylor's elephant hood came on and off occasionally.  I was very proud of them.

After having some food at the cul-de-sac on our block, we headed out trick-or-treating with everyone.  We straggled behind but the girls really got the hang of it.  They walked up to the door and would stick out their pumpkins or just dig right in and grab their own candy.  Now, they don't know what candy is nor have they ever tasted it, but they knew they wanted it... lots of it.  Everyone handing out candy thought they were so cute and would keep giving it to them, so most of it was recycled back in to the giver's stash.  The girls lasted a lot longer than we thought as well.  The adults were ready to go home, but the kids kept going for one more block.  They walked so much and did so well.  I'm glad their first trick-or-treating experience was a good one.  Enjoy our pictures :)

Taylor's "Say Cheese" face.

Sam was hoarding her candy.  She was in the wagon all by herself and hiding candy everywhere and then looking at it and putting it back in her bucket.  Then she would take huge handfuls and hide it again.  She was hyper and happy about her candy.  So cute.

Back home checking out their stash of candy.  They got to split half a fun size 3 Musketeers.
