For my girls 4th birthday party we decided to do something they love... arts and crafts! It was a theme I knew they would all be happy with, and since they have lots of friends that are boys, a princess party wasn't going to cut it. We had it at our house and set up stations for different activities.
Please ignore the fact that I misspelled Samantha's name (and I didn't even notice until after the party!)
We are all about picking our battles at this moment with the girls... and when Mallory didn't want to wear her "messy" shirt, she got to wear plain white. Compromise.
We set up a couple stations in the living room.
Coloring sheets they could pick out of binders, color, then decorate a frame to put them in.
This station was tissue flowers. The tissue was already cut, they just chose 2 pipe cleaners to wrap around it and peel open the tissue.
In the downstairs playroom, we set up 3 more stations. The kids were free to go to whichever activity they wanted to.
This station they made a fish. Using a paper plate with a triangle cut out of one side and glue it on the other. Then they used a glue stick to glue on the scales (folded circles) and a googly eye.
The butterfly station was a hit. They decorated a coffee filter, added beads to each end of a folded pipe cleaner and put them both in a decorated clothes pin.
We served fruit cups, chips and dip, kids snacks, pin wheels, and Rice Krispie Treat paint brushes.

Outside we had the painting station set up. I cut out decals for the kids to choose to stick on their canvas. They painted over it and once it was dry, removed the vinyl decal to have a pretty painting. All the kids went home with their aprons and crafts.
We sang to each kid separately. Our first born, Samantha, went first.
The middle child, Taylor, was next.
And our baby girl, Mallory, was third. I loved that they each got their special moment. And it was nice to see each get excited for her sister to be sang to. They love to see each other happy.
I made their birthday cakes. They requested their own cake (not a cupcake). I made the rainbow cake and iced it with white frosting. I used a stencil to sprinkle their initial on top. They loved the surprise rainbow cake in the middle.
After cake, everyone finished up crafts or played outside. Then the girls opened their presents.
Their party was so special this year. I believe the guests had a nice time and the atmosphere was pretty calm (not something I'm used to involving something around the girls). Most importantly, I think the girls' had a wonderful time celebrating their 4th birthday.

What a great party theme!!
That's a really good idea to sing to each of them individually! Wish I had thought of that before my girls' birthday last week. I always chuckle because my Makenzie and your Mallory (both M's and born last) sound so similar in personality. She is very particular about her clothes too and we make lots of compromises around here. Happy late 4th Birthday to your girls!!
